It was a short ride Caboolture, Woodford, Peachester, Maleny and
Conondale, through some of the best picturesque roads we have and
the Glasshouse mountains dominating the horizon. There would have
been a couple of hundred people turning up for the Rally. Heaps
of shade, plenty of soft grass, best band for a long time, beer
$2 ea, soft drink $1, cheap tasty burgers and salad rolls etc. $15
included camping, facilities, and badge. The Gymkhana had tyre toss,
egg throw, tug a war, iron person race, etc, a good swag of prices.
Yes, Mr Mutt was there as well.
When we set up, the guy next to us had his helmet "stolen",
big search and it turned out it had fallen off his bike, bounced into
the creek drifted down 100 metres where someone had perched it on
a rock. He never heard the end of it and his mates threw him in the
creek. We had a heavenly dip in the creek ourselves, where it was
narrow and fast flowing. It was just right at about 26 deg. to cool
us down. Kickan had her dip with the old man vest and badges on, the
only true way to wash a vest she said.
